UX Writing Do’s & Don’ts

The art of UX writing is a crucial element for creating a seamless user-friendly experience. It basically involves the careful use of words to guide users through a product interface.

1. Don’t blame the user for their actions, help them to understand what is wrong with the system. Help them to correct their inputs.

2. Be clear and concise, use simple and clear language so that user will not get confused. Just keep it simple and short.

3. Don’t use double negatives which force user to think more, we need to help them to understand things in one go.

4. Don’t be generic or unhelpful, basically generic icons are helpful but genric words are not so helpful to the user.

5. Don’t use words for numbers, why to complicate things by using words instead of numbers which are more helpful to the user.
